Legacy Homes in

Timber and Stone

What We Offer

At Old Wood Building, we work almost exclusively in timber and stone, natural materials that have stood for centuries. Whether we’re restoring a historic structure or building a new legacy home from the ground up, our approach remains the same: honor tradition, build with integrity, and create spaces meant to last for generations.

Timber framing

Timber framing allows for a level of customization that conventional construction simply can’t match. Because each frame is individually designed, cut, and assembled, we’re able to shape the structure around the way you want to live — from expansive open spans and soaring ceilings to intimate, grounded spaces defined by exposed beams.

Every joint, pitch, and proportion is thoughtfully considered, giving the home a distinct architectural identity rather than a standard layout dressed up with finishes.

STONEWORK

Our stonework is designed as an integral part of the structure — not surface decoration. From load-bearing masonry and foundation walls to fireplaces and exterior facades, each element is carefully laid to complement the timber frame and create balance between strength and warmth.

The variation in color, texture, and scale ensures no two installations are alike, giving every home a character that feels earned rather than manufactured.

Historic Restoration

We specialize in bringing 18th- and 19th-century log homes, barns, and heritage structures back to life by preserving their authentic character and structural integrity rather than replacing it.

Every piece of original timber tells a story—from hand-hewn beams and period joinery to weathered boards that have borne generations of use. Our craftsmen honor that history by retaining and repairing original materials wherever possible, using traditional techniques and thoughtful reinforcement to ensure these buildings endure for another century.

Old Wood Building’s restoration work goes beyond carpentry. It’s about preserving identity, memory, and cultural heritage — keeping the soul of a place intact while making it structurally sound and usable for today’s needs. We responsibly strengthen foundations, revitalize interiors, and thoughtfully integrate modern updates when needed, all while elevating the beauty and story of the original construction.

Barn Removal

An old barn carries history, hard work, and years of weathered stories standing on your land. When the time comes to take it down, it should be done with care, clearing your property safely while reclaiming the materials to be given new life.

At Old Wood Buildings, we can remove your barn and use the materials for a new purpose. Contact us today to inquire about getting your barn removed by a team that will do it the right way.
